(shoutout to the girlies diagnosed later in life 😝)
 

Now, after 100s of self-study hours & 1000s of math problems solved, im that educator i WISHED i had growing up.

What Up Doe Beautiful You ✨! I’m Jasmine, your fav artsy math tutor from the greatest city on Earth - Detroit, Michigan. To my students I’m Ms. Jae (because every school has a million Jasmines there & I ain’t breaking my neck everytime I hear my name spoken 3629 times a day 😂)

I help Middle School Students build their confidence in Math, and I do it with an artsy twist 🎨! By using creative methods (like doodling) within the lessons, I make Math less intimidating, accessible and a whole lot more fun 🎉. The result? My students show an average growth of one (1+) full grade level in their standardized tests before the school year ends—proving that creativity and engagement make all the difference. 📈

I’m a proud graduate of James Madison University, where I earned my degree in Studio Art with a focus on Painting & Drawing. I’ve had the opportunity to use my design skills as a graphic designer & help a wide variety of organizations & non-profits craft their unique branding in their marketing campaigns.


But something was missing…


After muchhhhh reflection, I dove into personal development programs like City Year, & there I discovered my true passion: education. The moment I stepped into that 7th grade classroom on Detroit’s eastside, and witnessed my students’ go from cussin’ me out in frustration from a math problem 😡, given’ me all the side eye to correctly & consistently finding the right answer with a sparkle in their eyes 🤩, I knew I had found my calling.

I’m hella grateful for the last eight (8) years, helping students overcome their math anxiety and develop a real love for learning as a tutor, former classroom teacher & chronically ill girlie (Crohn’s warrior since my childhood so we talkin’ 20+ years managing symptoms & still living life to the absolute FULLNESS 💋)
 

But my journey doesn’t stop with students. I’m equally passionate about supporting teachers—especially those navigating the challenges of the classroom. Teaching is hella tough, but together we can make it easier, more creative, and a whole lot more fun.
